I've been with aviva car insurance for around 6 years. I've got over 10 years no claims but they've put my insurance up by 10 pound a month. Why? and how? I'm going to shop about for a better deal. But does anyone know how i go about cancelling this policy please?

Call them and see if you can negotiate the figure down, go on a few compare sites and get some different quotes.

Do call them though as they might have you on automatic renewal.
Just phone them and cancel. They might charge you an admin fee though.

If it's a renewal just let them know you're not renewing. You don't get charged for that.
I found Aviva really expensive. if you call to cancel they'll probably lower the price, but you should shop around for a comparable quote first, then see if they want to match it.

if you're definitely leaving them, make sure you cancel your direct debit with your bank once you've set up the new insurance

Thankyou i'll do that. I'll see if i can get it cheaper somewhere else and let them know i can get it cheaper. And see what they say. I feel robbed x
Rates for females tend to have gone up by more than male rates (which may have fallen) because of the sex discrimination ruling.
Still shop around- starting with a call to Aviva
NEVER just accept a renewal , always shop around every year. They will rip you off if you just accept the renewal.
hit the comparison sites, loyalty is punished.
compare sights are still more expensive than going direct to the insurers, obviously how they make money
You have a month to search around before renewal, If you find an alternative, make sure you consult your present Insures otherwise they will renew.
