I will tell from my own experience. I have driven different motorcycles developed by different motorbike manufacturers. Amongst all of them, I like Suzuki Hayabusa as the best one in performance. It is really a robust bike. If you want to know of its aerodynamic design and its high tech engine and other features in the form of a review or write-up, you can refer...
If it were me and just for Summer, I'd get a Ducati Panigale.
As said above, Suzuki's are always worth a look.
It depends on the look you are going for (tourer, sports bike etc) and your preferences for seat position etc. Go and sit on a few and 'feel' them before spending lots of money.
In a few weeks we are moving to our Hill Farm in Wales, really steep fields! a quad is certainly on the books :-)) and fun will be had!! we have acreage right on the top of the Wye valley, the views are breathtaking, just cruise along the top on the quad :-) just don't mention snow please!!
Valkyrie is a lovely bike, goes like poo off a shiny shovel, we used to see off Ducati's with two up on it, corners lovely, you can strike sparks off the footrests
I wouldn't fancy crossing the alps or the pyrenees on most of the above bikes as they wouldn't be able to get around the hairpin bends, but for a sunday trip to the pub the are as good as any.
