Mercedes 500SL Suspension

Anyone know any diagnostic experts in the area of 500SL (1994) suspension? A friend's has effectively shut down. We have a CD-ROM technical manual and it explains the system and says that if anything goes wrong the whole lot shuts down to a basic setting. Now can anyone recommend a specialist in his area so that the true problem can be diagnosed? The Merc dealers are useless and charge �100 per hour to not know what to do!

Are you near liverpool ? i have a friend who is an ex merc technician, he has diagnostic equipment to and is far cheaper and more honest.

No unfortunately I'm in Bournemouth. Does your friend know anywhere down here with the diagnostic equipment?

Does you friend have a web site? business contact details etc? could he give advice over the phone?

You could get in touch and see if he will be down that way in the near future, he does a lot of travelling when dealing in vehicles, not too sure about the phone number or website, but you could contact him at shaneylawes at msn dot com - (phil leigh put you in touch)

You should be able to find a non dealer Merc specialist locally I'd have thought. We've a couple around our way.
