60th Birthday surprise

I've been asked to help to organise a surprise 60th birthday next month for a married English man living here in Spain. 

I've come up with a few idea that might be mingled together.

1) Black and White party - birthday boy wears white, everyone else wears black.

2) This is your life - Everyone writes the best/worst/most memorable thing about birthday boy

3) A Mock funeral. When all 3 things come together

How about a photo collection. See if you can get old photos from friends and family and make up a big display board.

Bring him a taste of home. A party with all traditional english things, stew and dumplings, flat caps, songs, knees-up, games, knotted hanky hat, double decker bus, black cabs, deck chairs, etc etc
