Safe To Fill In A Pond With Garden Waste?
7 Answers
Hi
cant find the answer anywhere. Recently chopped down a few branches and looking to fill my pond in.
My ideas was to order a ton of sand and fill it in this way. However to save time chopping up all the branches and trips to the tip - is it safe to put the branches, etc into the bottom of the pond and then pour the sand on top of it all?
Or is it running the risk of the branches decomposing and the hole part collapsing?
Any recommendations / advice would be appreciated.
Many thanks

Another way to deal with your branches is to bundle them in a far corner and let them be a comfy home for stag beetles and other little friends.
Why don't you use your pond for planting? Fill with topsoil instead of sand.
