Granddaughter, Nearly 13 , Has A Strange Red Rash On Her
6 Answers
She has had tonsillitis and is on penicillin since sunday. Now she has this red rash......with little heads. My daughter thought it was a reaction to antibiotics but took her to dr. to check. He has said it is chicken pox.? but has stopped her penicillin and changed it. Would like someone else to comment please.? Just to say she has had chicken pox before. Thankyou Brenda x

Hope she feels better soon.
I had suspected chickenpox a few months back when I started coming up in a red spotty, almost blister like rash. Was hospitalised due to drugs I'm on though turned out not to be. Not sure what it was, maybe a viral rash as my bloods were showing up possible infection. They just died down then disappeared.
Where is the rash? It couldn't be allergy related could it or some kind of heat rash?

Mine was on my inner arms round the elbow crease and mainly up my arms and some on my back. Chickenpox was a strong suspect until they got my bloodwork back confirming that I'm immune to the chickenpox virus (had it badly when I was little).
My GP did say though that chickenpox is not always the straightforward diagnosis people think it is.
