They would not be allowed to drive it.

Which is how it has been for me since I passed mine in 1975. I can drive a manual car if I have L plates on it and a person in the passenger seat who is over 25 and has a full UK license with group A on it. But I always have had an automatic car.
Hi Dot, why did you choose to take the test in an automatic car instead of a manual?
if you want to change gera but only have an automatic licence, you'll need to either take a manual test or buy a car with a paddle shift gear change.
Anything could happen, it depends where they brought it too.
I had an automatic mini and so took my test in it, but it wasn't until the examiner passed me and then told me that i had only the one class on my license, that I knew about it, noone else did either at the time, autos were quite unusual then.
toureman, I was being polite & ignoring the typo! lol

Dotjhawkes,

some of the typos and spelling is so bad here, I just can't help being a bit sarcastic, sometimes it is impossible to decypher the questions.

PS. I hope I spelt decypher correctly. lol

They need to put spellcheck on here somewhere!

Legally, they would not be allowed to drive the manual car. Driving the 'wrong' car would probably invalidate the insurance too. Simply take a test in a manual car and the worry is over.

Toureman - no you didn't.

Thanks GRUNTY, I thought it looked wrong, they should have a spell checker on here! lol.
