I have a Ford Mondeo and when I put it in for test it failed on emissions (2nd fast idle 7. 3. 2b) I spoke to a someone I know who works as a breakdown operative for the RAC and he said it shouldn't ne the Cat converter give it and oil change. Any ideas anyone?

Sometimes giving the engine a good run 1/2 hour (motorway etc) and let the engine rev abit (use a lower gear - don't speed) before an mot, it will help to reduce the emission levels.

The high exhaust flow will clear residual particles and once hot an engine is more efficient anyway.

It worked for me.....

Check the Lambda sensor (oxygen sensor) i had similar prob and this is what caused mine.
