Much of mainstream religion of all flavours now accepts evolution because it really has no choice - but it still has a problem with the evolution of man - who, of course, was made in God’s image, and therefore unless religion accepts that God was something like an amoeba, it must cling to the belief that man couldn’t have evolved.
