I don;t know why I do it, but every time I get a cold, I start to grind my teeth. It's the only time I ever do it, never in my sleep or any other time.
I get quite bad tooth ache afterwards and my gums and tongue itch alot.

Does anyone else do this or know any reasons for my grinding?

Interesting question. Whenever I am going down with a cold I get sore gums where I obviously bite into them and also mouth ulsers and toothache. I hadn't realised I was doing it before I read your question (I am going down with a cold now so I am more aware of it). I don't have any gum or tongue itching though.

Lizzie - Another post here about TMJ & grinding teeth -although I don't get an itchy tongue or gums with it, just a very painful jaw & ear.
