Is this reasonabel?
Hi all
Five months ago I bought, from Ebuyer, an expensive graphics card that has developed a fault.
I began the process of returning it to them on the 26th January.
In a nutshell (apologies for the long post)�.
1> The card will have to be returned to the manufacturer for repair or replacement. As they are in China this is going to take several weeks. I therefore asked for the loan of a card (any card!) to see me through this period. They refused.
2> Following good advice on the 'Answerbank' (thank you) I then demanded an immediate repair or replacement. They invited me to select an alternative from their website as the original item is now discontinued.
3> I chose the very closest alternative, but it was �9.00 more, AND incompatible with my current (although perfectly fine) motherboard (all cost comparable graphics cards are now employ a different interface).
4> In order for me to be able to accept this replacement I asked if they would offer a discount and free delivery on a new motherboard. They agreed but would only offer the motherboard at cost price (�32.90 instead of �36.58) BUT they would offer the replacement graphics card at the same price as the original. I thought they were at least *trying* to help so I agreed.

6> This aside, after several attempts, I finally received the answer to my question on the likely time the returns process of the faulty graphics card would take (they won�t send the replacement until this is done). As they had received the faulty item on the 01/02/06 it was �expected� to be completed by the end of next week (10/02/06). So it�s going to be at least two weeks (IF their expectations are correct), from Ebuyer receiving it, before I get a replacement.
Is all this reasonable?
It�s been a tortuous process�and I�m finding it difficult differentiating wood from trees at the moment!
