Just seen Minties post in "Christmas" egg number two has hatched.

Where is it Paddy? I can't find it. I don't know where Christmas is.

Go to Chatterbank and have a look at the various section which are CB Seasonal, Christmas and Weather.

I think minty might have been mistaken paddy. There's no mention of a second egg hatching today. I have seen the chick being fed. I think there's still just the one.

I thought that might be the case tilly. I've been to the site several times and there's been no mention or sight of another chick. Pity but one is better then none.

Yes, it seems to be doing well.

No, we have the webcam on all the time at the moment - no mention or sight of No. 2, the other eggs are all well past their hatch dates now.

My mistake. Saw chick flapping amid broken shell and assumed it had just hatched..!

No problem, minty. I reported that the chick had died, the other day. Fortunately, I was wrong.

That nest at Rutland Water is going to be pretty crowded when they grow a bit more.
