Stanless Steel Sink

When I had my kitchen done I chose a Franke sink as I know they are a good make. So why is it that I seem to be continually cleaning it (with a recommended product)yet it gets grubby looking with limescale one it. yet the cheap stainless steel sink at work is always gleaming and all that is cleaned with is damp cloth! It's driving me nuts!

I've always used bleach to clean my stainless steel sinks they always come up sparkling!

Yes, had water area Ummm. Neat bleach Nun? Do you just wipe it over and rinse it off?

Mine never comes up shining brightly as it's matt stainless steel.........

The missus uses bleach or Cif /Ajax spray, always sparkly clean.

I had a white Franke sink when I had my new kitchen over 20 years ago. It was the most expensive on the market at the time but it didn't last for many years, the surface cracked in the sink and stained really badly with tea. I am still saving up to get it replaced as financial circumstances have changed since those days:(

Best thing which I always use is Cillit Bang (sp?) limescale - spray and wipe over then leave for a few minutes and rinse off.

More or less. Pour some into the sink and draining board and wipe over then rinse - I even buff it up afterwards with some kitchen paper. We have cats and they wander all over the kitchen sink to get to the window sill so I must keep the sink and surrounds scrupulously clean (never know where the little blighters have been!) I tend to buy big 4 litre bottles of Domestos (other bleaches are aavailable) and I get through a lot of disinfectant wipes and kitche paper as well. I've tried Barkeepers friend but it tends to be a bit abrasive so I use it for other things and not the sink

Used Cif Tony and stainless steel cleaner. I think it's because London is a hard water area so I'll just have to live with it until I can get another sink :(

I live in SW London and the water is really hard here. I don`t notice it too much on the sink because it is brushed steel but anything that is shiny will show the limescale. There is nothing you can do about it except cleaning with Lime Lite or other limescale removers.

these are pretty good on stainless steel, they are a type of microfibre in a block

look for them in pound shops too. NB they are disposable and supposed to shred as you use them!

'Astonish paste' as recommended by society is to say the least really astonishing; and I think can be bought in a number of Supermarkets. It's tough on stains, grease etc. but delicate on the actual surfaces. (Doesn't scratch stainless steel, enamel etc.) Haven't come across the liquid Astonish stainless steel cleaner.
