i've had another busy day in the garden. really managing to get the veg plot in order now. it was very neglected last year but is looking better. have got loads of onion sets in and shallots in and leeks are ready to go in tomorrow. have also put in rows of beetroot, parsnips, carrots, mooli, first planting of runner beans and french beans and two rows of spinach, have cleared round the bushes in the fruit cage. planted pea plants in fruit cage (stops the rabbits eating them). put carrots, radishes and beetroot and more spinach in the poly tunnel as we have just finished eating the last lot. got cauliflowers and broccoli ready to go in tomorrow.

really enjoyed my glasses of wine tonight. what have you been doing?

I *have* had a good day today.
To try and cut it short, it involved sitting at a table by a pub car park with a beer (or three) looking at the lovely view of the other side of the valley, getting [very] mildly sunburned, the Canadian Grand Prix, spending time with Ms Dyde, but not too much and, now, working my way down a bottle of Famous Grouse in coffee and listening to music; knowing I haven't got to do anything by the clock tomorrow.
That goes down, in my book, as a good day :-)

Thanks headers, I am feeling a bit tired now, the visiting and shopping does take up a lot of time, I haven't cooked a meal since last Wednesday. My daughter has been visiting with me and we ended up in an Indian Restaurant one evening couldn't be bothered to cook. But he's on the mend and I'll be busy nursing for the next few weeks.

daffy - have just read this. has puss returned home yet? i do hope so. it is so worrying when they go missing. you wonder if they are in trouble and there is nothing you can do to help them. if not already hope puss is back soon.

ayg - sorry to hear about your hospital visits. i've done some of that and they seem to take over your whole day. please look after yourself.
