Daughter is going to a fancy dress party in 2 weeks, she wants to go as a 1920's/30s, I think the dress were is called flapper dresses, as in what they were in chicago/the great gatsby, all tassles and jazz, lol, I have hunted ebay, can anyone come up with either a link to buy or seen something on the web, she is a size 14, boa and head band is optional, hope you all will help,
Thank you,
Jo
My mum made me one of these for me for a fancy dress competition when I was about 8, she used an old dress and the frll bits off a lamp shade, I won first prize.
Thanks guys and gals, keep them coming, muggins will have to pay delivery and item, i am willingbtobe up to 30, she is at college so not working, she keeps looking in at ab, thankyou all,
Buy her a pattern for a simple shift dress and some Material and fringeing from a fabric shop, she can choose her colours etc. and after the party remove the fringe and she has a new summer dress .all her own work and less expensive for you, unless she gets the dressmaking bug like my youngest daughter did!!
I haven't checked but given the number of studios in the area finding a theatrical costumier shouldn't be too difficult for your daughter to sort out. I'm quite sure there is one around Marlow.
Her event, her outfit, her headache! You can tell I'm not a mother, eh?
