1970's cartoon- 'It's the wool-uff!!'

I know someone will know this.... There used to be a cartoon, with a big hairy dog, which carried a crook, standing watch for a little lamb...... catchphrase 'It's the wool-uff, It's the wool-uff' I remember the typical scene, dog hooks wolf round neck....... lamb safe again. What was it called??????

The sheep dog also used to guard the sheep against the carnivorous advances of a chicken hawk. The chicken hawk in the cartoon was the vocal inspiration for Fred Elliot in coronation st!

Foghorn Leghorn was a rooster - a flamin' big one, but a rooster nonetheless. I seem to remember one cartoon where he was being harrassed by an enthusiastic young chicken hawk - several times smaller than himself.

I think that's where my confusion has set in. Now you mention the rooster I can picture him strutting around and doing his Fred Elliot impression.
