Sorry about this but I am stuck on four! 1d: Sings "I saw three ships"? What you saw --------! I have ?A?S?I?S and it looks like "WARSHIPS" but why?
The next three I have no idea:
18a Embellishes melodies ignored by one European composer ?A?E??
24a Head of Caucasian procession returning radical and mostly headstrong S?R?A?
20d Go by piano that's in demand, picking up second of leaflets
Answers, preferably with explanations, would, as always be much appreciated.
Thanks Mallyh. I like "WASSAILS" but I am not sure about "BEDECK". I have an "A" for the second letter and the clue is : A change involving one part of "Carnival of the Animals" which I reckoned was A VARY with an "I" inserted to arrive at "AVIARY" which is part of the music by Saint Saens. Any thoughts?
