I had double glazing put in four years ago along with new doors.
Now the back door won`t lock, can`t turn the key at all.
Rang the company who put them in and he said that the locks don`t come under the guarantee and there will be a charge for fixing.
Can anyone advise me on this as this does not sound right to me...
I am beginning to think you are right as my house is not straight...sloping floors..when I first moved in,felt like I was on a sinking ship...especially when sitting on the loo.I don`t notice it now but newcomers do.So maybe the house has shifted slightly since the door was fitted.
All the houses in this area have a slight subsidence...
We had this trouble and solved it by dint of putting a key in the other side of the lock at the same time and by turning/wiggling them both together it brought 'whatever' it was back into alignment...
They came to look at the back door, the locks are only on a one year guarantee. He adjusted the door but said the lock could be wearing...we use the back door all the time so quite a bit of usage there...said would be bout £70 to change lock.
Anyway, will see how we go on .
Thanks to all your imputs.
