Hi Sandy - you can buy paracodal - just looking here on my box - active ingredients - paracetamol 500mg and codeine phosphate 8mg. You can also buy co-codamol cos I get them for my friend - sorry dont know what the mg would be. No offence daffy. These are btw effervescent. Let me know how you get on Sandy.
30 mgs of codeine is quite a hefty dose so I doubt if you can get them over the counter. My doctor prescribed them for me when I broke my ribs, which is extremely painful. What do you need them for Sandy? Is the pain very bad? I am sure your doctor will prescribe if you are in great pain.
They're not for me but for my sister who's in a great deal of pain with her hip. I phoned her doctor for a repeat script and they said they'd post it. She's still waiting.
I thought I'd ask here if I could buy them over the counter because the alternative is a £20 taxi trip to the GPs surgery to collect the script.
Hi sandyRoe
We live in a small village but the surgery sends prescriptions by fax to local chemist who delivers - how's that for service!
is this not possible where you live?
Best wishes to you sister
The sister used to live almost in the next street to the surgery she goes to and used a chemist close by. But the chemist near here is reluctant to dispense until she sees the actual script. Once she'd seen the first one there'd be no problem.
sandy I posted somewhere else since I couldn't find this posting. But anyway why don't you get your doctor to deliver prescription My sister's next door neighbour (able bodied) get theirs delivered (disgrace) - also with you being 66 could you avoid the £20 taxi and go with bus pass. hope sis is doing a wee bit better. con
