India in the Monsoon

I'm going to India during august and september. I know this is the monsoon period, but is there any places i can go to avoid it? (i'm flying into mumbai/bombay)

I was in Rajastan in August and it did not rain all the time... but I am afraid the real answer to this is no, not really. The good news is that is rarely rains all day every day.
