Decent Tried And Tested Strawberry Jam Recipe

I bought a load of strawberries at the market today and I want to make some jam. I`ve looked at all the usual sites and there seems to be a huge variance as to the amount of sugar to fruit. Does anyone have a recipe that they have used please? (I like quite a sloppy jam)

The great thing about their recipes is that they're usually accompanied by plenty of reviews, so that you can see what other people think of them. For example:

1kg strawberries
juice of 1 lemon
-Place the strawberries in a bowl along with 500g of the sugar and leave covered in the fridge overnight.
-Pour the strawberries and their juice into a pan along with the rest of the sugar and lemon juice
-Stir over a low heat until the sugar dissolves. Bring up to the boil and heat until it reaches it's setting point
-Once reached, turn off the heat and skim the surface of any scum.
-Leave to cool for around 10 mins and place in steralised jars and cover with wax paper and a tight fitting lid while still warm.
