How do I keep my number when I change service/phones?
6 Answers
My father has given notice to cancel his talktalk contract phone and will be getting my nephew's Orange PAYG phone at the end of the month. He then wants to use Vodaphone PAYG but keep his existing phone number. How do we go about doing this? Do we have to unlock the PAYG phone? Who do we ask to keep the number? Can we get it all done at the local CarPhoneWarehouse? As you can tell, we're a bit confused here and any helpful advice would be gratefully received! TIA.

1. You father has a Talk Talk Contract Phone and he wants to move the number to Vodaphone.
2. Your nephew is giving your father his Orange PAYG phone
1 The phone number should be able to be trasfered, provided the talk talk contract is for a mobile and NOT a land line. You need to goto Carphone ware house.
2. In order to use a Vodaphone Sim car in an Orange mobile the mobile must be unlock to that network, I dont know if CFWH do phone unlocking but most markets usually have a stall that does it.
Better might be to buy this phone from vodaphone at the shop and asking them about the number: http://shop.vodafone....le-phone/vodafone-340
at a later date get the other phone unlocked to orange and simply swap the sim cards.
Hope this helps
