Why is it that if I try to search Irish or Scottish records on Ancestry.com or FMP, they say zero info. even though Im a worldwide member and both are advertised as having these records ??

The amount of Information contained in Scottish BMD's is far superior to that on the English/ Welsh equivalents. But as craft says, you have to pay to see them; the upside is that you actually get to see them straightaway rather than waiting for a paper copy from the GRO, or similar, here in England.

I'm a full member of ancestry but for Scottish BMD's (not censuses) I have to pay http:// www.sco tlandsp eople.g ov.uk/? gclid={ SI:gcli d}& gclid=C KnOurSX 67cCFQ3 KtAod_Q 4AnA
Hi Craft, its not census Im after just BMDs and they still wont come up. Im just trying to tie up loose ends on a tree and they were married and all children born in Scotland but no records to be found. It doesnt really matter but I wanted to have the tree bang up to date before passing it on to my friend.

good idea mosaic but the other half would still have to join scotland's people to view the BMD, but as jack says, well worth paying as the amount of individual detail on their GRO certificates is outstanding, mind you that is not to imply that the Scottish folk told the 100% truth nor even made sure they always used the registration system........lol
This is a response from ancestry.............
I can tell you that unfortunately our Scottish database is extremely limited due to the fact that the Scottish Government have yet to release any of their records to us , we are in the process of trying to acquire more records for our members who wish to research their Scottish Ancestry . I am very sorry if this is an inconvenience for you , I have included for you below a link which will take you through to the website where the Scottish Government have made their records available .
