Spent all night waiting for the Banshees to come on as they'd promised, but ended up seeing Prefab Sprout's 'hot dog, jumping frog 'alber-bleeding-ker-kee' about three times (KIDS - we didn't have MTV then - right?) - have hated that song ever since. And they still didn't play the Banshees, much to (our) disgust - and as some Security Guard manning the phone for Thames TV found out!
Paddie MacAloon, you owe me a big pint!
It was the most 1988 of songs. Always seems to remind me of the top 30 on Sunday lunchtimes. I always used to think that it was also "have a cookie" as well. One of hundreds of songs disgnosed with the Misheard Lyrics Syndrome!
Being from the Central region, they were the only ITV region not to show Night Network, I am afraid.
