Hi there, I've just borrowed above book from library. Now before I start it, could anyone tell me if I'm still going to enjoy the book even though I have never, ever (sorry!) read a Jane Austen book? Will I 'get' it? Or will it go right over my head?

Hello there, I have read The Jane Austin Book Club and sadly no Jane Austin books. I did enjoy the book as it is about the people attending the book club. I hope you enjoy it too.

Love Jane Austen.

Hated the "J.A. Book Club"!

In fact I only read about a third of it before giving up.

But I do know lots of people who loved it. Some had read Austen, some had not - did not seem to make much difference.

But go on - give Jane a try! You are missing a real treat. Start with Emma. (But beware - some Penguin editions have an introductory essay which gives away part of the plot and spoils it, in my opinion. Read it at the end, not the beginning!).
