I was watching eastenders at the weekend and Pauline Fowlers new boyfriend has a really familiar voice. Did he used to do voice over for a cartoon or kids show or someting. its really bugging me.

Ray Brooks first found fame on screen as Ray in Ken Loach's groundbreaking Cathy Come Home in 1966, a drama shot in a 'dcumentary' style - one of the first plays filmed in this style. The direct impact of the realism of this play, and the issues it highlighted about homelessness led to the formation of the homeless charity Shelter.

Brooks later stared as Robbie Box in the popular series Big Deal in which he played a compulsivve gambler.

Since then he has become 'king' of the voice-overs, his voice is used on a varietry of high-profile campaigns which means his voice, if not necessarily his face, is familiar to millions of viewers.
