Possibly a build up of plaque, which in some people accumulates more quickly than average, in which case a six monthly visit to the dentist, rather than the annual one might impove matter. Also, daily flossing with dental floss to remove any small bits of food caught between the teeth will help. It's surprising how smelly they can become once they start to decay.
Diet may be an issue, Does it contain too much fat and meat and not enough fruit & vegetables?
