Last one: Fictional schoolboy has time at the wicket - I change from English to French. (8) ?E?N?N?S. I think it is JENNINGS [schoolboy fictional character]; I can see 'JE' for I changed from English to French, I can see 'IN' for at the wicket but I can't understand the rest of the structure. Explanation [or an alternative answer] would be appreciated. Thank you.

Replace the I by Je

simply do the I -> JE substitution in INNINGS

INNINGS = time at wicket.
I change from English (change the E in JE) to French.
= JE NNINGS
