I have a hot pink dress with roaching (I think that's what it's called) and a bit higher than mid thigh. I am not aloud over the top make up because my mom is very protective. I have blonde hair with natural highlights. My eyes are dark brown and I have tan skin. I have limited make up. I don't have much experience with make up so please include details. I am especially bad at eyeshadow. Please help

A bit higher than mid thigh and your mother is protective???????

woofgang I got it when she wasn't there and I was with my friends. She was pretty mad when I showed it to her but she got over if in a few days. Although I know she would make me take off the makeup because she is the one giving me a ride and she doesn't even wear make up herself.
jess are you in the UK? I suppose it doesn't matter if you aren't, just asking.
This might be better under Body & Soul (sub topic Beauty)
Difficult to be detailed about applying make-up and the right shades but someone might advise.
A little mascara and lip gloss is all you need at your young age....enjoy the day !
This takes me back. My friend and I used to wait till we were well out of sight of home, then we used to hoick our skirts up (well above mid thigh, I would say) then put lippy on and off we'd go. Happy days!
If she is going to give you a ride and she will make you take off the makeup, anything that you out on at the prom is going to have to be pretty quick and simple and you will have to be able to get it off again before she collects you at the end of the evening...
Hmmm...jess has said this is for a graduation...not a prom. So daytime not in the evening. If she is grade seven-then she is about 12-13 at the most. Like others have said...the less makeup the better. Your mom is right - the less the better. Let your own prettiness shine thru.

pastafreak, I'm sorry to say but you are wrong. It is in the evening. And Lynda B that's what I do :)
I really wouldn't worry about wearing makeup, I bet you are pretty enough without it. I'm sure that if you are trying to impress the boys, they will prefer a natural beauty as opposed to someone caked in make up.

Saying that, I would not have listened to my advice at your age. I used to do my full face of make up on the school bus once my mum was out of sight!
// And Lynda B that's what I do :) //

Don't you think that you are being very devious waiting until your mom is out of sight then bunging the make up on & hoisting your skirt up ? The very fact that you admit you are doing this means you know it is wrong.
Take advice girl & go as you are & let your natural prettiness shine through.

WR.
If 'that's what you do'...then why ask advice on here,as it seems you will do what you want anyway....
