I Nearly Did The "good Morning" Thread This Morning...

... I didn't sleep very well last night, and at approx. 3:30 a.m. I got out of bed to the sound of voices and something crashing into the fence between us and the next-door neighbours. Opening the curtains, I spied a torch beam in the garden below me. I was just about to give the body a volley of (Angry) abuse, when A.N. Other voice said "It's OK, it's the Police. Sorry to wake you. We think someone's used your garden as a shortcut," to which I replied "S'alright, I've not managed to get to sleep yet."
The torch beam belonged to the Dog handler and the dark shadow on the ground was `Sandy.' He borrowed our compost bin to launch the dog into the next garden and the other one who spoke to me disappeared into a different garden. I've since learned that they collared the miscreant in the next street.
Just wanted to share.

Bit of a clue, B00?
Spoken to the neighbour again and he said that they'd been at a house in the next street and someone was shouting "Open the door or we'll smash it open." It wasn't light enough to see `Sandy' but I guess he/she was a German Shepherd. The estate is like a figure of eight shape, and there is a park and cemetary nearby, and there are also allotments on two sides, so it would be easier for a villain to get off the estate in a variety of directions. Usually they'd call for the Helicopter and use the thermal imaging cameras - it was too late on the scene.
