I've Done It - - Surprisingly

despite being very very anxious about today (i have always had a fear of being tested, examined or assessed) , i have passed the three day course, and am now a qualified first aider at work

it may not be a big deal for most people, but i am relieved to have passed, and i shall sleep very calmly tonight

Congratulations Exce, I echo posts earlier regarding you not having to use your skill often. It is always good when training results in a ' pass' and a very good one it is.

Well done Excel ! It is daunting I agree but you will have to do all this again in your 'refresher' every 3 years :) it is worth it though to have this qualification under your belt ! Chin chin !

Well done, I done mine a while back, it is a lot to take in. I did use my resuscitation skills on a lady at work, I couldn't save her unfortunately, unknown to me she'd had an anurism, there was no chance for her. I think that was the hardest 20 minutes of my life, physically and emotionally.

Very well done, excel. It's easy to go all fingers and thumbsy when someone is testing you.

I used to be in charge of first aid in a secondary school. My record was 5 ambulance calls in a week (with 3 of them on the same day). Most of my training got put to good use, including the severed artery stuff. (You know you're going to have fun when, on the way into the office where the casualty is, a 12-year-old lad nearby tells you "It's just like that fountain in the city centre, sir!").
