Is it possible to convert the data contained in an Excel spreadsheet into an Access database (that would be quicker than typing up 500 entries??)

I'll look into it but I don't think you could save it in access format but I'm sure you can load an Excel file into access, I know you can get data out in Excel format.
OK its fairly easy, Open your database in Access and then select File and then Get External Data then Import. Then select Excel file type and find your spread sheet. A couple of things to take note of. If you have and existing table you need to make sure the Excel sheet columns match the table columns. Having more or less columns on either side will not work.
