Is Angela Merkel one of those, is David Cameron deliciously engaging with Ms Wade, Berlusconi - well that's not news at all but worth the voyeurism, and then there would be the footage from the Elysee Palace with all the practices going on there. Beats a Hollywood porn channel any night of the week
the EU may be large, but whilst Greece, Ireland, Spain and others teeter on the edge of the financial abyss, I'm not sure that "success" is exactly the word you were looking for.
Seriously, there's loads of spying other than the economy.....military, dirt on leaders, views and opinion forming, trade secrets, to name but a view. The US is spying on us and the EU. We spied on the G12 meeting or whatever G-force it was, the French caught spying, the Spanish too......not exactly news is it - as is neither Langley or Cheltenham listening into phone calls.
Doesn't everyone spy on everyone else ? I accept maybe bugging your friends might be a little off, it's still up to EU security to make the sweeps and remove the invaders. That said, diplomatically, an explanation is owed.
I would have been more surprised if they werent.
The United Spys of America do it to everybody they can, wherever whenever, they love to gather as much "intel" as possible...you never know when it may be useful.
Everybody is at it to a greater or lesser degree, always have been always will
They can hardly have the cheek to complain about the Chinese nosing in their affairs if they're doing the same here in Europe. Or is it a case of, ' do as I say, not as I do.'?
At the risk of alienating US members Sandy, that surey is the usual US official attitude is it not ? We're entitled to ... because ... whilst on the other hand how dare you .... to the US. I think it is part of their relation problems in places.
Ah, Regulation 2254/ 94 or thereabouts re bananas. It has never been specifically repealed and Class II bananas cannot have excessive curvature. Well worth investigating by a rival economic power :)
