I sold a second item on ebay at 10to3 this afternoon. It is now nearly ten past 8 and I have heard diddly from the person that has bought my item. I have messaged them, as if they were to pay me via PayPal I could and would have it in the post tomorrow. How long would you wait to give it up for second chance? I'm getting a little fed up.
I only ask as the first item I sold yesterday was paid for within 5 mins of purchase.
I would have thought it not uncommon for folk to check if they won days after the bidding ended. Especially if it wasn't something they were desperate for. Even more so if they had bid days before the end.
for qofmean -I too purchased an item Ebay about 3 weeks ago - when I went to pay realised as some of Abers would know - had lost/misplaced my debit card - had to cancel said card - but was able to contact seller and they waited 7 days for me to pay them again. Take a little time - all these young'uns don't have a minute - do they?????
You can't even send an official reminder until a full week ( 5 working days) has passed. You can't make a second chance offer until after a full week as well , unless you have 2 of the same item or the original buyer has said they want to cancel.
I find people very often do not pay until the week , if the auction was at the weekend. You are far too impatient .
I always put a note in the invoice saying '' I will post as soon as I have proof of payment''
I put that on my invoice Eddie - "I will post after I have received your cleared payment" (so if they pay by cheque, they wait another week for me to post it).
Bednobs, when you go into your PayPal account and look at the details of any transaction, it gives you the option to print a packing slip, to put in the parcel with the item.
Clanad ,we have the same system , you can get ebay to automatically send a reminder but as with you the minimum wait is 7 days (5 working days) until it kicks in. You have to set it up it does not just do it for you.
I just send a message through the eBay messaging service to give a reminder at 3 days, then again at 5 days. After 7 days unpaid, they get reported for non-payment.
