What is the greatest height at which an aircraft has been shot down by AA fire (or AAA if you are American)?

In Aug 1944 I was working on a farm by Bognor Airfield and I saw an aircraft shot down by AA fire over Portsmouth.After the war I read that it was an Me109 PR aircraft escorted by two FW190s intent on photographing damage from V1s and that it was hit at either 37,000 or 39,000ft.As the Royal Artillery does not claim the record it was almost certainly a naval gun as they were definitely capable of reaching that height. But the problem is noone seems to know anything about it.

Just a thought. The place where they have these guns, would that be called an AA battery?

On 1st May 1960 at Sverdlosk the Russians shot down the American U-2 spy plane "Black Lady" piloted by F.G(Gary) Powers at a height of 70,000 feet.

Gary Powers' U-2 was shot down using a SAM-2 (surface-to-air) missile.

The RAC is usually more accurate with their sniping.

A 1937 AA gun the 90mm M1 was capable of reaching 39000 ft.

I could not find any other specs.
