Bumblebee In Eaves

There's what looks to be a group of bumblebees, a white tailed species, nesting just under the eaves of the house; the roof comes down to the ground floor ceiling. Now what species is it? Which nest about 2 metres above ground ?

Fred, here in the U.S., nearly all bumblebees nest in the ground. If you have, as I suspect, an infestation of carpenter bees, you should have them eradicated quickly... Read here and decide:

The UK ones don't look white-tailed to me. I suspect that it may be the garden bumble bee, which is a fairly new species here (recorded 2001), and which does often nest at a height.

No Rosetta though they look like workers of those. The two species there both nest in the ground and these are nesting 2 metres above it. Thanks, anyway

This looks like a useful link. It mentions bombus hypnorum as making nests in bird boxes so maybe its something along those lines. Anyway, hope it helps.
