Engine Cover
7 Answers
Hi.A further question about my recently purchased 3 yr old Renault Clio. I was checking under the bonnet the other day to check oil/water/hydraulic/ battery conditions which were all fine. I decided I wanted to check the condition of the spark plugs but to do this I have to remove the cover over the engine. I have tried gently trying to prise it off to no avail.I have since been told that it has to be "wrenched" off which sounds a bit OTT to me. So if anyone can help thankyou in advance................

The Haynes manual is not too bad, but on your next trip to France look out for the similar official Renault book because the photographs are so much clearer. If you don't read French you'll need the Haynes manual as well. The Renault Clio has some design "quirks" which defy explanation and frustrate home maintainers. Thank you for your reply Zacs. I am not a tinkerer but am guilty of being an old ex marine engineer who likes to know what does what which is why I want to lift the engine cover to see the layout. I probably won't touch anything as you say a 3 yr old car I shouldn't have to (19000miles?) but for my mechanically peace of mind I have to have a look. Hope you understand.
I think then you should invest a Hynes Manual!
