My wife and I have use of a mobile phone for emergency purposes only. Consequently, I would be happy to see the use of Mobile phones being banned in all public places within earshot of anyone else; except for real emergency purpose. O.k. it might mean going to the end of a Supermarket's Car Park to make a call, but it would make me happy.

lozzer50, shame on you, surely you realise that the ability to procreate makes a young woman God's gift, the world owes them a living and should get out of their way!!!!!!!!!!!
As far as the original q, I was on the top deck of a packed bus out of Norwich and a woman was having a very loud intimate conversation with someone on the phone, by the time I got back to my car at the P and R, I knew more about her personal life than I know about my daughters' lives. I wanted to chip in and offer my opinion, as it seemed to be a public forum!
At a Parents' Evening, a father walked away from me to take a call, about a golf game, and then got annoyed when I refused to repeat what I'd told his wife. Their sprog, needless to say, was a mememe type.
