yes, you can buy things for a dollar and resell them. However, if you know they can be bought for a dollar, then so do people who want to buy them and it would be stupid of them to buy them for more. I don't know how old you are but if in the UK you make money from selling on ebay, you have to inform the tax office to look at the tax on your profits

If Dollar Tree is the US equivalent of Poundsavers here why would anyone buy an item from there on-line at a dearer price than they'd pay in the shop?

I used to buy mirrors, photo frames etc from the £1 shop and engrave on them
Names, Pictures, football logo's etc
Sometimes I painted designs on them with glass paint,
I then sold them for ten pounds each at craft fairs and boot sales. X
