best way to earn some money (16 year old)

I'm 15 but turn 16 on the 28th. I'm mature, hard working and can easily work independantly so feel i am capable of a job! I also really need money at the moment (quite worrying how bad i am at saving!!) as i owe my sister some money, i am wanting to save up for a gap year which i am determined to make happen, and i know this is bad, but i haven't bought clothes in ages and feel i've had alot on my plate lately and finally want to treat myself to a new outfit! i have made up a cv and am going to hand it in to cafe's, chemists and some hairdressers next friday (i still need to get a reference from my guidance teacher) but they might not take me. i'm going in face to face so i have more of a chance hopefully but even still... how did you earn money at this age? i literally am skint and can't afford anything!! help me please!!

at 15/16 i was working at a supermarket stacking shelves and working on the tils.

call in at all your local shops

I went into town armed with a pile of cv's, dropped some off at shops, spotted some jobs advertised in windows. It paid off, got a part time job at a clothes shop. Gave me a decent wage to be fair, and a 75% off staff discount!

It was great pink, most of my wages went on clothes!

I also found they were quite flexible with giving me more hours during holidays, or as and when they needed me. Don't restrict yourself too much too soon, 'sell yourself' to get a foot in.
