This remarkable young lady came to prominence when she was shot by the Taliban for actively campaigning for education for females in the area she lived in.
However if you take a little look at her Wikipedia entry you will find out a lot more about this brave girl including the fact that she is the youngest person ever to be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize.

On July 12th (Her 16th birthday) She is going to personally deliver a petition to United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon asking that The united Nations "recommit to getting every girl and boy in school by December 2015."

Could you please take a minute to read the petition and if it's something you agree with please sign it.

In my opinion the courage shown by this young lady should not go unsupported.

No matter. The important thing is that the UN do make a committment to try and get every girl and boy the opportunity of an education.

Sorry Sandy, If I'd have seen it I'd have signed it. Must start checking back on posts I've missed. Cheers anyway.

Signed -- wonder if Avaaz will pick up on this as they are pretty good at mobilising support.
