Just moved into a new property. Have an alcoholic living above who is causing a lot of nuisance to myself and the two other leaseholders. Various things, but highly unpleasant individual, male, and the rest of us are females and we are feeling really threatened, and uncomfortable living in the same building. What is more annoying is that we all own the flats and will soon be getting the freehold. Has anyone got any ideas what we can do about this chap? We have reported all incidents to the Landlord, who seems decidedly disinterested. There is no point in trying to 'talk' to him, it would serve no purpose and would probably only serve to make him more annoying and to cause us more problems, because that is the sort of person he is. I am logging all the issues, and report each and every one to my Landlord as and when they happen. Would it be worth getting some free advice from a Solicitor. Surely this bloke has already breached the terms of his Lease?

Just a guess, but your Landlord could be playing for time until you get the freehold and lease agreements mean nothing.
This seems familiar! The landlord is in breach of his obligation to ensure your "quiet enjoyment"
Do you really need to ask the same question 3 times?

I put this in three areas because it is a suitable question for the three areas! Why is there a problem with that, the question is why did you even notice it was - VHG?! Thank you to the rest of you for your sensible comments.
I'm sensing anger with a tinge of frustration.
If you post the same question in 3 places, scraggy55, you are more likely to get 3 disjointed threads. If you post a question once in the right section everyone who has help to offer can put it in one place and bounce ideas off each other. It's a bit like holding a meeting with 3 people- it's usually better to all sit together to sort something out than to keep meeting up in pairs to try to find a solution.
You may not have seen the Site Rules, scraggy.

Point 6 says: "Avoid posting questions and answers more than once in the same or multiple categories. They take up room from other posts and will be deleted."

It seems one of your 3 identical questions (from Home & Garden?) has been removed before any answers were posted on it.

Hope this helps.
While ostensibly provided solely for the original poster's benefit, answerbank actually provides an entertaining and interesting source for many contributors.

Sourcing answers over more than one thread can be most irritating.
When we have answered a question once, it is puzzling and/or annoying to see the same question again. It's as though you didn't like the answers and hoped to get a different lot
