Les Mis Movie

I've seen the stage show many times and the film is nowhere near as good, in my opinion. Most of the singing is awful, especially by Russell Crowe. I can only imagine people who've not had the theatre experience liking this. What do you think?

It went with his character, rugged and hard. I also love the stage show and have seen it quite a few times. The movie helps by filling in the full story. Has anyone read the story of it.! Pretty good and interesting reading.
I don't think you can compare a stage version to the film version really, its a bit like listening to a bands album on your ipod and comparing that experience with seeing the band play live at Wembley.
In theatre the emotion, passion and euphoria that you feel from being in amongst the action will never compare to a 2d/3d film experience. Similarly people say this about books/films as reading touches you on a more personal and imaginative way rather than viewing the book through someone elses vision. The experience is different.
