Co-Coda Oil
17 Answers
I am taking 4 a day for toothache. Got another 5 days to go before I can be treated at the dentist, but a message on the box says can only be used for 3 days as they can cause addiction.
Can I take them for longer or is it dangerous?
Even 2 paracetamol won't kill the pain!
Thanks

I think the 3 day warning to to ensure you see GP for serious pain and also because they can cause constipation and can be addictive. I would say 5 days is not an issue ........... also I guess you are taking 8/500 strength too if you are buying over the counter as 30/500 is only available from GP ...... so just ensure you don't take any other paracetamol medication (as that's what the "500" bit is, 500mg of paracetamol) and see you dentist asap ............. just a suggestion but have you tried clove oil? This is meant to be great for dental pain .... never tried it, just heard it from others. Hope dentist sorts it soon x
Don't be shy with the pain killers if you are in pain, just don't exceed the dose. My understanding is that you should try to get on top of the pain by taking the recommended dose, then take the next dose at the recommended time, even if you don't feel any pain. Apparently it is easier to stay on top of pain relief once established, rather than waiting until it starts hurting again and trying again to get back on top of it.
