I'd never heard the term before, so while the rest of you bask in glorious sunshine we have a sea fret

I thought it was a typo for Sea Ferret, I could imagine a little furry Nessie type things. I'm disappointed now.
a sea mist or fog (never heard of it either)
oh we experienced one of those once on holiday in abersoch, quite a sight really as it came in so quickly

A fog that comes from the sea.
Sea fret is awesome, one minute you're in bright sunshine sunbathing on the beach, the next you are shivering and you can't see your hand in front of your face................

We've always been used to sea frets here in Yorkshire.........
i would need a whacking great big telescope to see the sea from where we are.
Is that what we call haar in Scotland?
