I could do with some extra money on the side. Recently I have read a lot about sites like surveyscout, paidsurveyscom and so on. Has anyone ever worked with them? They charge an entrance fee of about 17 to 25 Pounds, in order to gain access to a database of survey companies. Are they worth the money? Please tell me your experiences with these sites. Thank you!

Hi Editor,

I really do not know what I have done wrong here. I simply want to know what these sites are about and if it makes sense to join them. Maybe I should have not mentioned the actual names of the sites. If anyone has experience, please let me know.

Casaespana, so far nobody has offered me a loan and I did not ask for one, so no need to bother with reporting, but thanks.

Sorry andante. There is nothing wrong with your question. When it appeared along with another question about how to make money working from home an answer was posted from someone who appeared to be offering loans. I did report this and both have been removed. There are a lot of vulnerable people out there, with even more ready to prey on them. I'm sure some ABers will come up with some good advice regarding your question. Best of luck.

Back to the question then........

I don't know about these specific schemes but like many others I'm sceptical about any scheme that wants money up front. So many of them skim off what seem to be small amounts of money from the unwary - sums that then add up to thousands for the scheme operators but deliver little or nothing. There are lots of reputable survey companies out there who employ armies of part-time people with their clipboards in the High Streets. I can't see why you'd need to pay for the database of information you can get for less by checking Kelly's Directory to get names of companies then do some phoning or emailing around.

Can me a cynic if you like but this looks like a variant of the 'stuffing envelopes' opportunities.

Hi builders- and other mates, thanks again for your answers. I have thought already that this scheme might be scam, so I have not joined it. Only sometimes I am inclined to hope that something could be really as good as it sounds. Of course it never is. :-) Thanks for the hint to Kelly's Directory. As I am new in England I did not know about it, but I certainly will give it a try.

All the best for you
