Croatian Kuna

Hi guys, with croatia going into the euro in july will I still be able to purchase thier kuna when we go on our holidays in august.this is what we did last year and we had a better rate than we would have done buying them here in england.

From the little I've read, they're joining the European Union tomorrow but not adopting the Euro at the moment.

They were intending to join the Eurozone but have decided not to. No surprise there then.
The rate I got on the Dalmatian coast was about 8.8 kunas per pound - about a month ago.

I wouldn't buy them in advance anyway - when we went to Croatia, we just took our money out of the hole in the wall when we got there. It won't matter then whether they are kunar or euro, you just get the going rate.

Croatia joined the EU yesterday 1/7/13. I don't know if that's good or bad. It does not mean they will adopt the Euro either anytime soon or ever - get your Kuna in the UK or in Croatia (I got a rate of 8.7 in the UK no commission) I was there recently, the shops do not accept Euro. However bizarrely at Dubrovnik Cilipi airport the duty free shops sell everything priced in Euro and not Kuna, so perhaps take any spare Euros to purchase any duty free if flying out of DBV.
