There should be a section where you can thank people for their help and advice. If you post an answer on yor own question/post the people who have helped might never knew they helped! If that makes sense?!

Most people have a look at their profile and re visit posts where they have posted an answer.I am sure most people will revisit particular posts out of concern for the Q which someone has posted just to see how its going.

again i cant see why a thankyou is necassary - but if someone was desperapte to find out if their answer had helped, then im sure they would keep up with the thread. If they were looking for thanks i cant really understand why

Thank you for the suggestion - without being a killjoy..."thanks" should be included on the original thread, putting them separately makes it difficult to understand what you are referring to. As drisgirl mentions most regulars (and the most prolific Answer-ers) recheck threads they've given answers to - hence the often heard complaint about people who don't say 'thank you' on the thread!
