12 Answers
I need a bit of help with our village quiz. I have got ideas for some, but I'm not convinced! All answers are places in the UK and Ireland. 1) Current, round poor actor 2) Another home for a caber thrower[not that one] 3)Sound of girls voice 4) Did this regardless 5) You would not find this in the desert 6) Music - four beats to the bar 7) Indicate a high hill 8) To teach someone colloquially 9) With change could be found in South Africa. BTW, sft, I got your answer from the deleted post on Monday; thanks. Thank you.

No 3. Given that girls' voices are 'high' and 'clear', how about Highclere in Hampshire? The sound is OK at least, even if the spelling isn't.
No 9a. There's one Simonstone in Lancashire and another in Yorkshire with a Simonstown in South Africa.
No 9b. There's an East London in South Africa, so the 'change' might just involve adding 'East' to our 'London'.
Hey QM If it's Larne in Co. Antrim I'll eat not only my het but the whole suit as well....having lived there for the past six years nothing good has ever come from the place not even a semi-cryptic clue....5) is Water in Devon and 6) Tempo in Northern Ireland though I'll give way on number 7 my answer doesn't fit as well.
