This seems to be a case of Sugar stirring. The manager of the hotel wasn't aware of any complaint and there was a similar meal on the adult section of the sample menu that I viewed. Surely a grown man, regardless of learning disabilities needs a grown ups meal? I would have thought that the family would be familiar with any issues that might occur when out and about and have strategies to deal with them.
I think that if they had first explained that the man could only eat small portions due to his medical condition and asked if he could have a child's portion of fish fingers the response would have been different. They probably just ordered a kids meal with out any explanation as to why, and the staff though they were trying to get out of paying for a full meal.
I agree the fact that there were free meals for children puts an entire new perspective on it . Yet another Daily Wail non story full of half truths.
I bet that if he had offered to pay the normal non free kids meal day price there would have been no story. Possibly he did offer but that is not how the Wail tells it. Not for nothing is the Wail editor often known as 'The Dirty Digger'
